Community guidelines
Be helpful and civil, post honestly, no spam or self-dealing, and respect stores and their staff.
PriceTrim only works if shoppers can trust what they read here. These guidelines apply to deals, comments, forum posts, profiles and messages.
Be helpful and civil
- Disagree with a deal, not with the person who posted it. Explain why a deal is not good instead of mocking it.
- No insults, harassment, threats or hate speech.
- Remember that most people asking questions are trying to save money for a reason. Be patient with beginners.
Post honestly
- Describe deals accurately, including anything that raises the real cost.
- Only mention a previous price when the store actually charged it, and say how you know.
- If you own, work for or are paid by a store or brand, say so clearly whenever you post or comment about it.
- Do not post deals you have not checked, and correct your post if you find a mistake.
No spam or self-dealing
- No referral links, invite codes, or your own affiliate links in posts, comments or profiles.
- No vote manipulation: no extra accounts, vote trading or asking others to vote.
- No repeated posts of the same deal, and no posts that exist only to promote something.
Respect stores and their staff
- Do not harass employees or customer service about a price, an order or a policy.
- No instructions for fraud. That includes return fraud, counterfeit or altered coupons, false price-match claims and anything that requires lying to a store.
- Follow the price mistakes etiquette when a price looks wrong.
Protect privacy
- Do not post anyone's personal information, including order numbers, account details or screenshots that show someone's name or address.
- Crop your own screenshots before posting them.
How moderation works
Every deal, comment and post has a Report option. Reports go to the PriceTrim team, who review the content and decide whether to leave it, edit it, mark it, hide it or remove it. Depending on what happened, we may warn a member, remove posts, limit an account or ban it. Spam accounts and serious abuse can be removed without warning.
Moderation decisions are never for sale. Sponsors and affiliate partners get no say in what stays up. If you think we got something wrong, contact us and explain.
